Some Of The Benefits In Training With The CrossRoads Training Institute

Graduates of the CrossRoads Training Institute (CRTI) are eligible to receive their Professional Certification through the several worldwide and highly recognised and very prestigious Associations:

  • Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists (ARCH) in Canada.

  • International Reciprocal Membership with the Australian Hypnotherapists' Association (AHA), General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) and the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) in the UK.

  • (Please Note: Only ARCH is recognised as a certifying "Clinical Level" Association. The USA Associations listed below do not have the mandate to certify as "Clinical" Hypnotherapists. Click Here to read an important notice from the IMDHA regarding this matter.)

  • International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA) in the USA.

  • International Association of Counselors and Therapists (IACT) in the USA.

  • and reciprocal with the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) also in the USA.

The CRTI and its programmes are registered with the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia - Reg. No. 3123 and certified by the Minister of Human Resources Development CANADA (Federal Government) allowing you to receive a "certified" Income Tax Credit for your tuition.

CRTI is also a proud registered member of both the National Association of Career Colleges and the BC Career Colleges Association and abides by their Code of Ethics.

CRTI Instructors are Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists (ARCH), Certified Instructors in Clinical Hypnosis (ARCH) and are in private practise working daily with the public. The instructors are also Registered Professional Counsellors (CPCA, ACA, IAMFC) and Registered Counselling-Hypnotherapists (ARCH) with Doctorates and/or Masters Degrees in the mental health field from "fully accredited universities". The CRTI clinical staff developed this programme to train Hypnotherapist at the clinical level in the art of Behavioural/Medical Hypnosis. They teach what works - from over 40 years of combined practical experience in the field of Psychotherapy and Wholistic Medicine! See the "Instructors Page" for specifics on education and accreditation of the clinical training staff.

The approximately 1100± hour Diploma programme has been broken down into Three Clinical Units:

  • Year One, 300± hours, Certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy and

  • Year Two, 400± hours, Certification in Clinical Counselling-Hypnotherapy.

  • 400± hours of Supervised Client Work.

The entire career training programme covers all vital areas that are required for competency in private practice including important therapeutic techniques and protocols seldom covered by other courses. In this way you can finish Year One and begin working in the Profession while you complete Year Two.

Training at CRTI is "accredited" at the "Clinical Level" by the Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists of Canada. (Go here to find out what is mean by the "Clinical Designation".)

The training makes use of videos, PowerPoint™ presentations, handouts, interactive lectures, live demonstrations, required monthly reading assignments and hands-on in-session practicum each weekend. In the advanced levels, there is interactive case studies, supervisor/peer client consultation and supervised logged between-session practicum experience - all this to ensure you develop confidence and competence as a therapist in the Art of Hypnosis.

The training includes the practical application of techniques and treatment protocols to specific issues and behaviours commonly affecting clients, which brings them into therapy - such as: pain, depression, PTSD, anxiety, anger, loss of control, addictions and much more!

The training programme is designed to facilitate confidence as well as competency in the Art of Hypnotherapy by the inclusion of the foundational Counselling Techniques and protocols referred to as The Skilled Helper - as well as reference application of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR™).

The training programme examines both the Classic and the Modern approaches to Hypnosis.

The training programme looks at a wide spectrum of Masters in the Art of Hypnosis including Erickson, Tebbetts, Kappas, Elman, Yapko, Hogan .... just to name a few... it does not lock you into "one" approach, rather allows you to explore this unlimited profession. In this way you will be able to understand and facilitate hypnosis that works with the hypnotic suggestibility of each client.

The training is completely in-session and hands-on with a balanced mix of academics and practicum. We avoid the pitfalls associated with "Fast-Track or Time Accelerated Intensive" training and video/correspondence courses. (click here to read why)

The CRTI offers workshops and advanced seminars for continued personal and professional development at a reduced tuition for its graduates. Also, accredited "Speciality Certification" Seminars in Clinical Hypnosis and the option of an Advanced Year Two Counselling-Hypnotherapy Training after completion of the Year One Clinical Hypnotherapy Training Programme.

The CRTI graduates are allowed to audit the programme at no extra cost, as often as desired (provided space is available and you are willing to participate in the demonstrations).

Detailed instruction on how to set-up a private clinical practice in the Province of British Columbia is provided - including a step-by-step manual developed by CRTI exclusively for our graduates titled: "Where Do We Go From Here?".

On going clinical client consultation with CRTI's clinical staff is provided after graduation at no extra cost simply by calling the toll free number from anywhere in North America.

After graduation you will have the opportunity to access A Certified Professional Coach, at a reduced rate, who works at supporting self employed professionals to build profitable businesses.

Access to a secure and confidential Therapist Networking and Clinical Support Blog 24 hour, 7 days a week during your training and after graduation for networking.

The programme has been structured in order to maintain the "student-centred" focus of training which teaches you the "client-centred" approach to the Art of Hypnotherapy. The "client-centred" approach is only taught by CRTI in Canada! Most others teach a "therapist-centred" approach. (click here to read about it).

The programme has been designed to fit your lifestyle - it allows you to continue working, spend time with your family and friends and to practise what you learn as you study - all without stress!
