Final preparation for Clinical Certification (RCH) with the Association of Registered Clinical Hypnotherapists. Optional CHt Membership with IMDHA, IACT and NGH is also available for those practicing outside Canada or who wish professional recognition from these USA Associations.
There are a few robust differences between clinical and non-clinical training and certification: Clinical Hypnotherapy (CCHt/RCH) graduates are trained to work with more seriously disturbed populations and are more likely trained in diagnostic and assessment protocols and is more focussed on causation rather than symptomology, whereas Hypnotherapy (CHt/RHt) graduates work with healthier, less pathological populations and is more focussed on role functioning, with choices to be made, and with actions to be taken and is concerned with “normal” problems rather than mental health problems.
It is important to remember that neither the IMDHA, NGH nor IACT give "Clinical" level certification to anyone.
The training programme for certification as a Clinical Hypnotherapist requires only one weekend a month. The programme begins in September with no scheduled classes in December and finishes in May/June. The programme classes start on Saturday Morning at 9:00am and conclude on Sunday no later than 5:30pm. The programme has been specifically designed for those who are working full or part time.
